Verizon Wireless has signed a lease for more than half of a new 100,000-square-foot office building in the Annapolis Junction Town Center, St. John Properties announced Wednesday.
St. John is developing the mixed-used complex along with Somerset Construction Co.
Verizon Wireless will take about 61,000 square feet of the building, part of the so-called transit-oriented development located near the Savage MARC station on Dorsey Run Road in Howard County. Hundreds of apartments, a garage and retail space already have been built, with more buildings planned including more shop space and a hotel.
“The presence of Verizon Wireless within Annapolis Junction Town Center will inject energy, create momentum and significantly impact the economic well-being of the surrounding area,” said Richard Williamson, senior vice president of leasing and marketing for St. John, in a statement.
Baltimore Coffee and Tea Company also leased space in an adjacent 5,400-square-foot retail building and plans to open in April.
