Maryland Lieutenant Governor Boyd Rutherford; Sam Lennon, President of L2 Defense; and Matt Lenihan, Vice President of Leasing for St. John Properties were among the attendees of the grand opening ceremonies for L2 Defense at Greenleigh at Crossroads. Earlier this year, the company, which provides technical services and training expertise to the defense, national security and first responder markets, signed a lease with St. John Properties, Inc. for 8,200 square feet of space within 12 Irondale Street. The single-story, 36,000 square foot office building is located within Greenleigh at Crossroads, a 550-acre mixed-use community situated in the White Marsh area of Baltimore County. L2 Defense relocated approximately 30 employees from its former location in Edgewood, MD.
Founded in 2012, L2 Defense works with the U.S. Military, Federal and State Government Agencies, academic institutions, and other defense contractors to provide engineering, logistics, and training services for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) defense; emergency management, and national security missions. In 2018, L2 Defense was named the Fastest-Growing Private Company in the Greater Baltimore Area in the Baltimore Business Journal’s Fast 50.
“L2 Defense is a rapidly-growing company that was attracted to the flexibility offered by 12 Irondale Street, together with its presence within a live, work, play mixed-use community,” explained Sean Doordan, Senior Vice President, Leasing and Acquisitions for St. John Properties. “The company was previously located nearby but recognized the depth of amenities and conveniences embedded within Greenleigh at Crossroads including sit-down and fast-casual restaurants and a full-service hotel. L2 Defense is extremely respected in its industry with strong leadership.”
A number of state and local politicians attended the event including (third from right) Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski, Jr.
St. John Properties, together with Somerset Construction Company and Elm Street Development, are currently developing Greenleigh at Crossroads, which represents the next development phase of Baltimore Crossroads, a 1,000-acre mixed-use community. The concept plans consist of 1,900 residential units including single-family homes, townhomes and multi-family units; more than 1.76 million square feet of commercial space and retail amenities; and a 120-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott. Upon final completion, Baltimore Crossroads is configured to support more than 2.5 million square feet of space.
