St. John Properties, Selects Ryan Schwabenbauer As Director Of Sustainability

Baltimore (November 28, 2016) – St. John Properties, Inc., a Baltimore-based real estate development and management company, has named Ryan Schwabenbauer as its new Director of Sustainability. He was formerly an Administrator for Maryland Environmental Service.
In his new role, Mr. Schwabenbauer will devise, implement and evaluate innovative, sustainable business initiates that positively impact the company’s real estate portfolio, its clients and the employees working within its commercial office, flex/R&D, industrial, warehouse and retail buildings located throughout eight states. This includes executing procedures that assure all future projects meet certain levels of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, overseeing strategies that address the improvement of sustainable practices employed by St. John Properties and forming policies that continue to position the company as a leader in the green and sustainable building industry.
Mr. Schwabenbauer brings more than fifteen years of diversified experience to St. John Properties including management positions with Lean Green Solutions and Northrop Grumman, as well as serving as a Board Member for the Baltimore Harbor Watershed Association. He is also an accredited professional of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
Mr. Schwabenbauer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Baltimore. He currently resides in the Severna Park section of Anne Arundel County.

St. John Properties recently earned its 40th certification from the USGBC for satisfying LEED requirements in the development and construction of commercial office buildings in the local market. The company has developed nearly 2.1 million square feet of Gold or Silver LEED-certified space since beginning its LEED corporate program in 2009. Of the total, twenty-eight buildings have achieved LEED Gold for core and shell.
