St. John Properties selects Peyton Stone as Development Manager for Virginia and Central Maryland Regional Office

ASHBURN, VASt. John Properties, Inc., a commercial real estate development and management company that has developed more than 24 million square feet of commercial real estate space across 12 states, has selected Peyton Stone as Development Manager for the Virginia and Central Maryland regional office. Formerly a Project Manager for Dewberry, Stone brings more than eight years of diversified engineering and entitlement experience to this position.

In his new role with the company, Stone will oversee and manage the activities of third-party design, planning, and legal professionals, while working in close concert with St. John Properties’ in-house civil engineering and landscape design teams. He will frequently interact with various government agencies throughout the review and approval of land development projects. His primary objective is to facilitate the entitlement and approval process of development projects by obtaining all necessary zoning, site, and construction approvals/permits. He has quickly jumped into to a growing list of projects that currently include four throughout Frederick, Maryland and six across Loudoun and Prince William Counties in Virginia. Additionally, Stone supports site evaluation and due diligence activities for St. John Properties’ extensive land acquisition activities across the region.

Stone earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Green Engineering, and a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech. He is a Virginia board-certified Professional Engineer and is active with NAIOP Northern Virginia, including the Loudoun and Prince William Government Relations Committees. He also serves on the Facilities Standards Manual Public Review Committee by appointment from the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors. In Maryland, Stone is part of the Land Use Council for the Frederick County Building Industry Association. A former competitive college lacrosse player, Stone also served as Head Varsity Coach of Heritage High School in Leesburg, VA for several years.

Last fall, St. John Properties broke ground on the final phase of Ashburn Crossing, an 80-acre mixed-use business community in Ashburn, VA. The final two buildings at Ashburn Crossing will total nearly 200,000 square feet of flex/R&D space. This new construction is in addition to four buildings totaling 130,000 square feet of flex/R&D space currently being constructed at nearby at Arcola Center, and two flex/R&D buildings totaling more than 120,000 square feet in Frederick, Maryland.
