St. John Properties Promotes Justin Schaub to New Position as Director of Sustainability

BALTIMORE, MD (August 10, 2009) – St. John Properties has announced the promotion of Justin Schaub to the newly-formed position of Director of Sustainability for the full-service commercial real estate firm headquartered in Baltimore. For the past three years, he worked as Project Engineer for the company.

In his new role, Mr. Schaub will continue to develop and manage sustainable business initiatives that can be instituted throughout the St. John Properties portfolio of more than 14 million square feet of existing commercial office, R&D/flex, industrial, warehouse and retail projects in five states. He will also implement procedures that assure that all future projects meet some level of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification as well as to devise a strategy aimed at improving all sustainable aspects of the company.

“Over the past several years, our company has placed increased importance on implementing building and facility management protocols that places St. John Properties in a leadership position in the sustainable buildings movement,” explained Edward A. St. John, President and Founder of St. John Properties, Inc. “This commitment has necessitated the formation of a separate division of the company that can focus all of its efforts on uncovering new systems to engineer into our buildings and creative operational techniques that can be implemented by our asset management group. We have assigned this important task to an employee that can devote his full-time activities to this new endeavor.”
