St. John Properties Building 16,200 Square Foot Regional Training Facility for Subaru in Frederick, Maryland

Subaru of America is expanding its footprint in St. John Properties’ real estate portfolio

FREDERICK (February 13, 2019) – St. John Properties, Inc., a full-service commercial real estate development company with approximately 20 million square feet of space, is constructing a new 16,200 square foot custom-tailored training facility for Subaru of America, Inc. within Riverside Technology Park, a 48-acre 503,760 square foot mixed-use business community in Frederick, Maryland. The full-building lease with Subaru will be located at 8400 Spires Way and will contain Subaru’s Automotive Performance and Training Facility. St. John Properties, the developer, builder and owner of the business park, expects to deliver the facility for a winter 2019 move-in. Danny Foit of St. John Properties represented the landlord and Michael Roden and Ken Zirk of CBRE represented the tenant in this transaction.

Subaru of America, the U.S. subsidiary of Subaru Corporation of Japan, is responsible for the distribution, marketing, sales and service of all Subaru vehicles in the U.S. This new facility will be an important part of Subaru’s Service Training infrastructure where it will continue its education program that teaches company-wide protocols and offerings to its dealership network. The center, which will integrate a blended learning approach consisting of classrooms and hands-on vehicle instruction, is large enough to provide instruction for up to 60 teachers and students on any given day.

8400 Spires Way is being constructed directly adjacent to a new 5,371 square foot Royal Farms convenience store and fuel station that is currently underway at Riverside Technology Park, as well as pending road improvements to Monocacy Boulevard.
