Regal Cinemas Assumes Management and Operation of 14-Screen Theatre at Harrisburg Mall

BALTIMORE, MD (January 9, 2013) – Regal Entertainment Group (NYSE:RGC) has assumed ownership, management and operation of the former Great Escape 14 theatre at Harrisburg Mall, based on the company’s recent acquisition of the national Great Escape Theatre chain. Effective immediately, the theatre has been re-branded Regal Great Escape Harrisburg Mall Stadium 14 with no disruption of business or service. With more than 540 theatres throughout 38 states, Regal Entertainment Group is one of the largest theatre operators in the country.

“The addition of Regal Cinemas to the Harrisburg Mall tenant mix is extremely significant and positive, as it integrates a highly-experienced, successful and financially-strong theatre operator into our retail environment,” stated Bill Russell, Director of Harrisburg Mall. “Tangible benefits will include the attraction of more first-run movies, creative special events that will entice more theatre-goers and, in turn, shoppers to the Mall and a higher degree of involvement in the local community. Regal Cinemas’ defined strength of operations and presence is a major win for Harrisburg Mall and the surrounding region.”

Regal Cinemas has announced that former members of Great Escape’s “Critics Choice” loyalty program can upgrade to Regal’s free Crown Club loyalty program. Critics Choice members will receive 10 extra credits when they activate their Regal Crown Club card online by January 31, 2013.

Jointly owned by a partnership between St. John Properties and Petrie Ross Ventures, Harrisburg Mall is located on a 61-acre parcel on Paxton Street off Exit 45 of Interstate 83. It features approximately 70 tenants, including Aeropostale, Bath and Body Works, Champs Sports, Claire’s, Express, Foot Locker, Kay Jewelers, New York and Company, Radio Shack, Victoria’s Secret and others. Free-standing Toys “R” Us and Applebee’s are also part of the tenant mix. One anchor store, previously occupied by Boscov’s until its corporate bankruptcy in 2008, remains available for lease.

The joint venture partnership recently completed the first phase of a renovation program that removed an unused free-standing building from the primary Mall entrance and added decorative paver sidewalks with light fixtures, benches and plantings. Further interior and exterior improvements are planned for the near future to continue the re-positioning efforts of Harrisburg Mall.
