MIE Properties-LA Completes Renovation and Improvement Activities at Main Street Pelican Point

GONZALES, LA (August 24, 2012) – MIE Properties-LA has announced the completion of more than $200,000 worth of improvements to Main Street Pelican Point, the 39,000 square foot retail center located in front of the Pelican Point Golf Community. The project, located on 6473 Highway 44 near Interstate 10 in Ascension Parish, is approximately 20 miles from Baton Rouge and 45 miles from New Orleans, LA. The retail center is currently more than 75% leased.

The construction work included installation of new colored stucco and awnings on the exterior of the retail center, the addition of new benches and planters surrounding the common areas, new decorative ironwork, a centerpiece fountain, and the planting of colorful landscaping.

Main Street Pelican Point features a diverse blend of service-based and soft goods retailers including Edward Jones, Panda Restaurant, Subway, the office of State Representative Clay Schexnayder, Fox’s Pizza and a privately-owned package and parcel service. National retailer Dollar General recently constructed and opened a new store on a parcel adjacent to the shopping center. In addition, Ralph’s Market, located next to Main Street Pelican Point, serves as an anchor to the retail building.
