John H. Carter Company Expands at Barringer Foreman Tech Park in Baton Rouge
Company servicing industrial, commercial, and municipal customers has now expanded five times at St. John Properties-owned business community and will soon occupy 45,900 square feet of space

BATON ROUGUE, LA – John H. Carter Company, Inc. has signed a lease with St. John Properties, Inc. for 10,080 square feet of additional space at Barringer Foreman Tech Park, a 28-acre business community located on Airline Highway (US 61) in Baton Rouge. This represents the company’s fifth expansion with St. John Properties, and they will soon occupy 45,900 square feet within the nearly 220,000 square foot business park. St. John Properties Regional Partner Todd Pevey represented the landlord in this lease transaction.
Founded in 1933, John H. Carter Company is one of the largest and most comprehensive manufacturer’s representatives in the Gulf South and Deep South region, with fourteen facilities throughout Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi. The company offers a wide range of industrial automation solutions to industrial, commercial, and municipal customers, and provides specialized products and services to the chemical, refining, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and power generation industries, among others.
The company is taking additional space within 14141 Airline Highway, a single-story building comprising 60,240 square feet of flex/R&D space to house its Machinery and Engine Solutions division. With an expected occupancy in Q2 2025, approximately 40 employees will work in the space and focus on industrial asset reliability, including rotating equipment protection and prediction solutions, engine optimization solutions, and related diagnostic and monitoring services. John H. Carter Company expects to ramp up employment, over time, to more than 50 employees in the new space.
According to company Vice President Tim Walker, Barringer Foreman Tech Park was “the natural first choice for the expansion due to the company’s existing operations within the business community and its familiarity with and confidence in St. John Properties.” The company’s first lease in the complex consisted of 13,500 square feet in 2013, and the group will soon occupy space in three separate buildings.
