Aberdeen Technology Park Now 100% Leased With Company Expansion and New Tenant

BALTIMORE (April 5, 2006) – Aberdeen Technology Park @ THE HEAT Center, a threebuilding,
112,000 square foot flex/office business community in Harford County, MD, is now 100% leased with
the expansion of an existing tenant and the signing of a new company at the project in Aberdeen. D. Wheatley
Enterprises, Inc. expanded from 14,400 to 36,900 square feet of space on Technology Drive and Battelle
Memorial Institute signed a new lease for 4,800 square feet. The project is owned and managed by St. John
Properties, Inc., which has developed more than 10 million square feet of flex, warehouse, office and retail space
in Maryland.

D. Wheatley Enterprises, which has been a tenant at Aberdeen Technology Park since 1998, is a
Plastics Engineering and Systems Integration company that has produced components for a number of different
products, including wiring harnesses and grenade launchers for Humvees, and breathing apparatus devices for
various military gas masks. The firm primarily supplies products and Engineering Services for the Department of
Defense, but also works directly with companies that are involved in the manufacture and production of goods
for the defense industry. Founded in 1990, the company employ between 35 and 40 workers.

“Our company is becoming more heavily involved with the design, fabrication and testing of
products and we were in need of additional space to support these operations,” explained Dave Wheatley,
president and founder of the firm. “We were first attracted to the HEAT Center based on its proximity to our
primary customers and many of our employees now live near this location. It was a simple decision to expand at
Aberdeen Technology Park.”

Headquartered in Columbia, OH, Battelle Memorial Institute is a global science and technology
firm that develops and commercializes technology and manages laboratories for its customer base.

“D. Wheatley Enterprises has been a long-term and stable tenant at Aberdeen Technology Park
and they are making a strong statement by increasing their space requirement by nearly three-fold at the project,”
explained Jerry Wit, the company’s Vice President of Marketing and Leasing. “We have been extremely
successful in attracting companies that are involved in the defense or high-technology industries to this location,
and Battelle Memorial Institute represents the latest example in this pattern. We expect interest in office space
situated near military installations to increase in the coming years.”

As of year-end 2005, the St. John Properties portfolio was comprised of approximately 10
million square feet of space locally, featured a 97% occupancy rate and included more than 1500 tenants. The
total real estate investments of the company are valued at more than $1.1 billion.

Founded in 1971 as MIE Properties, Inc., St. John Properties, Inc. owns and has developed
more than 11 million square feet of flex, warehouse, office and retail space in Maryland, Colorado, Louisiana,
Virginia and Wisconsin. Fore more information about the company, visit sjp.mu9b0uf9-liquidwebsites.com.
