Houston-based Synagro moves HQ to White Marsh

The Daily Record

BALTIMORE (October 22, 2013) — Synagro Technologies Inc., a processor of wastewater biosolids, is moving its corporate headquarters and 50 jobs to Baltimore County from Houston, expanding office space it already occupies at Baltimore Crossroads office park and bringing its total employment in White Marsh to 100 people.

The company filed for bankruptcy in April 2013, one of several renewable energy companies that struggled to turn environmentally friendly energy initiatives into profits, according to Bloomberg News.

It was sold in August to a Swedish private equity firm, EQT Infrastructure II LP, for $480 million.

Synagro, which employs over 800 people in 34 states, recycles wastewater byproducts for use as fertilizer and biofuels.
