Harrisburg Mall to Sponsor Seventh Annual USS Susquehannock Sci Fi Day on Septmeber 16
HARRISBURG, PA (July 31, 2017) – Harrisburg Mall will sponsor the 7th annual USS Susquehannock Sci Fi Day on Saturday, September 16 from 10 am to 3 pm. The free event featuring authors, artists, entertainment groups and representatives from local Sci Fi-related organizations will be held at the 2nd & Charles book store, located on 3501 Paxton Road in Harrisburg. Among the highlights will be appearances by the Capital City Jedi Knights, Central PA Ghost Busters and B9, the robot from the television series “Lost in Space.” For additional information, call 717-564-0980.
Additional highlights of Sci Fi Day include:
- Authors Michael Jan Friedman and Aaron Rosenberg will be speaking and selling their books At Sci Fi Day and We LOVE Cosplay. Michael Jan Friedman also served as a co-writer of an episode of Star Trek Voyager.
- Cosplay professionals Monica Tulay will be appearing as Super Girl and “Captain” Kyle Williamson, who has cosplayed as Captain America, Hans Solo and Star Trek’s “Q” will both be available for photo opportunities, as will the Star Trek Wolves.
- A panel discussion, led by fans of both DC Comics and Marvel Comics, will debate which brand is more popular in the industry.
- The Jurassic Park Jeep will be available for photos.
- Cosplay 101 will provide tips on how to create and wear your favorite character’s costume.
- The Denebian Slime Devils will sing popular Sci Fi music from a variety of genres.
- Michael Bentley from For Sake Paint will be selling Sci Fi themed paintings.
