GONZALES, LA (May 12, 2009) – More than 33,000 square feet of leases – representing over 50% of the space available at Barringer Crossing II Retail Center – has been signed by MIE Properties-LA, the company announced today. Barringer Crossing is the retail component to the Barringer Foreman Technology Park, a 216,000 square foot business community in Baton Rouge, LA, located at 14111 Airline Highway.

Four leases comprise the 33,000 square feet of space, including ITT Technical Institute (21,800 square feet); Our Lady of the Lake (8000 square feet); Counter Culture (2400 square feet); and Wall Décor and More (1200 square feet). All of the companies are expected to be operational in the second or third quarter of this year.

“The on-site retail center is a significant amenity for current and future office tenants and activity remains strong in this sub-market,” explained Todd Pevey of MIE Properties-LA. “We will continue to cultivate prospects that will bring energetic and compelling products and services to the business community to round out our tenant mix. Our leasing pace remains ahead of our anticipated schedule,” he added.

The 28-acre development is located between Interstates 10 and 12 and is convenient to East Baton Rouge Parish, Ascension Parish and Livingston Parish.
