In an effort to foster and grow a culture of philanthropy and engagement at St. John Properties, each employee has the opportunity to participate in one in-person volunteer event benefiting a Baltimore area non-profit organization via SJP Engage.

Employees are also encouraged to build direct connections with organizations that support their communities and reflect their values. Below please find a list of organizations and current volunteer opportunities to explore as you see fit.

The events below are open to the public, but are not sponsored by St. John Properties or SJP Engage in any capacity. Please note that if you choose to participate in any of these events, it must be on your own time, and at your own risk.

Irvine Nature Center: Apply for a Spring Students Internship

Applications for Spring semester internships at Irvine are now open! Internships at Irvine are a great way for students to gain hands-on experience in the environmental field, develop professional connections, and gain service hours or course credit. We are currently hiring for the following positions:

  • Environmental Education Intern: Eco-Explorers Afterschool Program
  • Environmental Education Intern: School Programs
  • Teaching Assistant Intern: The Nature Preschool
  • Outdoor Education Intern: Homeschool Programs

Maryland Zoo: Zoo Boo!

Date: October 3rd-5th, 17th-19th, 24th-26th, and the 31st – 10:00-4:00
Shift Times: 9:15-1:15 and 12:30-4:15
Location: The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore

The Zoo’s annual family friendly Halloween festival is back but has been expanded! Volunteers will help with games, crafts, trick or treat stations, costume contests, hay maze, and more over three different weekends in October. Volunteers will be given an assignment at check-in the day of your shift.

Please note:
Oct 4th and 5th are Member Mornings and we will have an earlier start time than the rest of the dates
Oct 11th is the Baltimore Running Festival (marathon). Please check your area and route if there will be any issues getting to the Zoo that day.
